This natural spring water near Boulder City, Arizona/Nevada border, USA is a great place to visit if you are traveling between the two states. It is actually a series of hot mineral water springs which can be used for various purposes. This is naturally heated water from magma, which seeps out of the cliffs in the Gold Strike Canyon and collects in several rock soaking pools. If you are visiting this spring during the day, you do not need any extra permits. However, it is advisable that all members of your group are physically fit to be able to traverse the uneven grounds. Visitors are strictly barred from camping overnight in the canyons.

Where can I find spring water?

The correct coordinates are 36.002764, -114.757626, but it is difficult to get a complete address since the springs are in a canyon near Hoover Dam on the Arizona/Nevada border. The springs cannot be reached by car, and you have to trek a little to reach the springs.

It is not possible to go to this spring on a vehicle. You can park your vehicles in the parking lot near the trailhead off of Highway 93. After that, you need to walk on a gravel trail that begins just before the Hoover Dam Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The trail continues descending down through the Gold Strike Canyon to the Colorado River. The one-way train through the canyons is about 2 miles long, including several 20-foot rope climbs. If you are a beginner, climbing these ropes may be a bit difficult for you. It is advisable to start the trek early morning as it might get too hot later during the day.

Since ancient times, people have depended on these hot springs for warmth, healing mineral water, and cleansing. The water temperature in this spring can be as high as 109 °F, and the usual temperature ranges from 98° to 110°F. There is a sand and gravel-bottomed rock pool at 100oF. You can expect the springs to be dry, depending on the time of the year. There are also chances of flash floods during the monsoon. Usually the authorities close the train from mid May to September because of the heat.
