This natural spring water in Rimbey, Alberta, Canada is a part of the Open Creek Campground and is available to all the campers. It is also available to the public, but not used much. The spring water comes out of a metal tube and is covered by a cistern. The water flow is continuous, and the water is cool and refreshing. However, not many tests have been done on the spring water to declare it safe for drinking. However, if you have a portable water filter with you, you may take the chance of drinking and tasting the spring water. Though the spring water is open all day long, the campground is open from 7 am to 11 pm. It is run by the Rimbey Fish & Game Association, so if you are looking to visit the spring outside opening hours, you may consult with the authorities.

Directions:

If you wish to reach the spring, drive west 32 kilometers from Rimbey on Highway 53. Take a left turn, and you will notice a blue sign for Open Creek Dam Campground. Take the first left intersection and drive slowly. You would be able to locate the cistern covering the spring.

The spring, as well as the campground, is a great place to visit with friends and family. If you do not want to get wet while filling bottles and containers, it is advisable to carry your own rubber boots and towels. Though there are frequent fracking operations in the area, it does not affect the water bed. Personal tests have been carried out by several visitors, and they suggest the water has a TDS of around 280. If you are filling containers, do so from the flowing water and not from the pool formed.
