Quapaw Bathhouse

Before I was born, the spring had been capped. The water pipe is marked with the number 1908, which was hand-etched into the concrete. This number may indicate the year it is constructed. The water is drained into a storm drain by a pipe located 3' above the concrete basin. It makes it easy for water containers to be filled. It's situated in a concrete area measuring approximately 10x10x10ft with 4' tall concrete walls. It once had a 3 foot tall screen wire wall made of wood on top of the concrete walls. The roof was removed years ago. To pay off the construction, the original builders put a deposit box in the corner. Then, they gave the water away for free. People travel from all parts of the city to obtain water. It flows year-round, without restriction.
