"Artesian water comes from the Hutt River, which flows into the secure artesian well (layers of sand and boulders that are contained by silty and clay layers) at Taita Gorge. The water is naturally filtered through the Hutt Valley's alluvial sands and gravels over many years before reaching Petone Foreshore, where it leaked into Wellington Harbour's seafloor. The region is now supplied with treated artesian waters. You can still enjoy untreated, pure artesian water from the taps at Te Puna Wai Ora (Spring of Life), located in Buick Street Petone. Pure artesian water does not contain any microorganisms or other organic substances. You can drink it in its natural form as it has been naturally filtered throughout its journey through the aquifer. Te Puna Wai Ora offers pure artesian waters that come from the Hutt River.
