Description

The Auenquelle (or Au Fountain), was constructed in 1832. It was redesigned in 1981. It can be found between Neckardammweg & Neckartalstrasse at the neckar River's left. The aquifer is protected by artesian pressure. The water that shoots up to the surface is contained within a tall glass structure. The nearby pool has a smaller flow that is easier to manage. The city maintains this spring which is well-known for its delicious, sweet-tasting water. This website provides information about Bad Cannstatt (Stuttgart), including its mineral analysis.

Die Quelle liegt mitten im Wald des "Naturpark Hessischer Spessart". Nahe der Grenze zu Bayern. Die Quelle ist leider nur uber Waldwege zu erreichen, also nicht per Auto. Von Westen aus beginnt nahe der Grenze zwischen Hessen und Bayern and einem Parkplatz an der E41 ein sehr breiter und mit dem Fahrrad gut befahrbarer Fahrradweg, dem man 3,6 km folgt bis zur Quelle. Diese ist teilweise augeschildert.
