Description
Wakulla Cave is a branching cave dominated by flow that has formed under the Woodville Karst Plain in north Florida. [2]
It is classified first magnitude spring [3][4] as well as a major point of exposure for the Floridan Aquifer. The spring is the source of the Wakulla River. It flows 9 miles (14km) to southeast, where it joins with the St. Mark's River. After only 5 miles (8.0km), the St. Mark's flows into the Gulf of Mexico at Apalachee Bay.
