Kuruvungna Springs, Los Angeles, California, CA, 90025

This trail is found near Eagle Rock in Topanga State Park. It follows a well-traveled path that was used by recreational hikers and others before them. The exact location is east of Eagle Rock along the Eagle Springs Fire Rd. Satellite images reveal that there is a side path leading to the location of the spring. This was the water source for native peoples living in this region. You might find a marker to indicate it is a historic site.

Topographic maps point to this spring's location along Topanga Canyon Blvd. This narrow two-lane road runs through very steep terrain, some 600 feet high. Because it is along a busy two-lane main road through Santa Monica Mountains, access will be difficult. You may not have enough room to park your car there, but satellite images do show locations to pull over. Otherwise, it is a hazardous walk.

It is believed to be one the most pure water sources in Santa Monica Mountains. This is a public property, but it is currently fenced off because of a'snail invasion!
