Head north from Castella on highway 5 and take the road crossing through the highway to the left near hte Chevron petrol pump. That's the Castle Creek road. Continue on it and reach the castle crags state park. You need to walk and hike to the spring from this point forward. It's going to be a really long walk, really long!
