Midas Spring Water in Mecklenburg County is North Carolina's oldest manufacturer and also one of the oldest national bottled water companies. Midas was a pioneer in home and office delivery.
With the purchase by two brothers in search of developable property, the last ten years have seen a new chapter in Midas's history. After learning about the unique mineral-rich properties of the spring, the brothers decided that the water would be continued to be bottled. This could lead to the water becoming a magnet for people like many other great springs across Europe. One brother compares the Midas spring with Fiuggi, a medieval town located in the hills south from Rome. He said that Michelangelo and the popes all drank Fiuggi. It is also known for curing renal stones. "Our water might be better, but that is the only difference."
