The falls can be seen to the north from along Highway 1 at Rogers Pass within Glacier National Park. This appears to be one of the more significant waterfalls in Glacier National Park along the Rogers Pass corridor. The falls drain from the Hermit Glacier just north of the Rogers Pass visitor center, and can be plainly seen for a kilometer along the highway at the summit of Rogers Pass. The falls look to drop about 600 feet, but a smaller upper tier which may or may not be legitimately considered part of the same fall, could add another 150 feet.
Since this waterfall is glacial, passing through in the summer will not yield lower flows – the falls are in fact at their best in July and early August. The best views are from the “arches” sculpture at Rogers Pass, but you’ll need a good telephoto lens to get a close shot. The Hermit Hut trail climbs near the falls, and might provide access to its base with a little bushwhacking, but the trail is steep, so be forewarned.
