Vassvikefossen
The falls can be seen from the E134 about 4.5km east of the Rullestad Tunnel, or about 3km west of the E134 / Route 13 junction. There is a large bus stop on the north side of the road that provides ample room to park for a picture.Vassvikefossen is a large cascading waterfall visible from the E134 across a small lake as one travels west from Odda to Haugesund. The falls cascade a total of about 155 meters (510 feet) along the Stølselva as it crashes down the mountainside behind some farms. Part of the series of falls is obstructed from view by the shape of the ravine which the falls occupy, and part is obstructed by the surrounding forest, but the majority of the waterfall is easily seen from the side of the highway. A closer approach would no doubt yield better perspectives of individual sections of the falls but the entire series of cascades cannot be seen collectively from up close.
As of 2014 this waterfall has been regulated within a Hydroelectric system and as such has a reduced flow for much of the year. When surveyed in 2011 the falls were observed during high streamflow conditions (possibly bordering on flood stage), at which levels the diversion for the hydro system will not have any discernable impact on the falls.
