Galena Creek Falls

Description

Even though Yellowjacket Creek Road has been permanently washed out at Veta Creek, people seem to still find things to do up here (this area seems to be popular for gathering fire wood). If you know where to look, there are several pretty waterfalls along the road, this one being the highlight. However, just because this is the best one doesn't mean it's the easiest to find. In fact, unless you're paying attention, chances are you'll blow right by this one. The falls can be seen from the road, but it's not terribly obvious, especially when the surrounding trees are in leaf. The falls themselves are gorgeous, quickly becoming a personal favorite. Galena Creek forms a virtually perfect example of a fan shaped waterfall as it splashes into a small pool. During high flow, the falls are superb, but require a little more effort to reach.
