Name of Waterfall

Madbush Falls

Description

We recently received an email from the landowner who wishes us to know the falls are posted and visitation isn't allowed. For what it's worth, it was a cordial email (and we don't always get this sort of email from someone who is nice...) expressing liability concerns. Please skip this one and go visit another nearby waterfall...there are several in this valley..Folsom Brook makes two leaps in a schist gorge. There is clear water sculpture at the lower tier, but the upper tier is more angular, with clear evidence of frost wedging. Laser measurements show a 20' upper tier in a horsetail configuration, while the lower tier is a short segmented fan into a roughly circular pool edged with rounded boulders. The name "Madbush Falls" comes from the name of the old motel, the Madbush Chalet.
