Rocky Creek Falls
Rocky Creek Falls is located on the north end of Cape Foulweather along the Central Oregon Coast. From the bridge on Highway 101 in Depoe Bay, take 101 south for 2.1 miles to the Otter Crest Loop and veer right. Park at the turnout 1/3 of a mile further on the north side of the bridge and find the steep path leading down to the oceanside rocks where the falls are visible.Rocky Creek Falls is a fairly unimpressive 34 foot tall cascade where Rocky Creek spills out of a concrete culvert and drops directly into the Pacific Ocean near Cape Foulweather. It appears that when Highway 101 was built, the designers decided to transit the creek by a fill rather than a bridge. As a result, the old highway crosses the former location of the stream on an antique arch bridge that spans a slope of huge boulders and Rocky Creek now spills out of said concrete culvert just below the bridge. That the falls are easy to access and spill right into the ocean makes this one worth a quick look, but otherwise its not a very interesting feature.
