Name of Waterfall

Twin Falls

Description

Twin Falls is found about 4 1/2 miles west of the junction of FR 90 and 23 or about 13 1/2 miles east of the Lower Lewis River Falls Campground along FR 90. Watch for the sign for Twin Falls Campground (the sign had been taken down on my most recent visit, but the pylons it was mounted on were still in place). The falls are found about halfway through the campground (which is walk-in only).Twin Falls is a picturesque stair-step waterfall that drops 53 feet almost right into the Lewis River. The tiers are about equal in size - 30 and 23 feet respectively - offset by a few feet in such a way that the surrounding brush makes photographing both tiers clearly at the same time quite difficult. The falls are viewed from within the rustic Twin Falls Campground along the Lewis River. The falls as well as the creek were named for the striking double drop appearance of the waterfall - certainly following an original train of thought.
