About This Waterfall
Alfred Creek Falls is a cascading fall streaming off the Alfred Glacier on the west side of Mount Alfred in the Coast Mountains near the head of Bute Inlet. Based on little evidence, we had initially suspected the falls to extend well up the mountainside, dropping for close to 700 meters but with more information and more accurate terrain models, its clear our initial estimate was much too optimistic. Best case scenario the falls along the creek drop for perhaps 150 meters but we feel a more reasonable estimate would be about 60-75 meters - the rest of the loss in elevation is over a long enough run, shallow enough slope, and descends enough over talus and boulders that the remainder of the drop cannot be considered part of the falls.
