About This Waterfall
From Highway 20 in Concrete, turn south on Gordon Road and follow it for a mile across the Skagit River, then bear left onto Concrete-Sauk Valley Road and continue for just under 9 miles to Finney Creek Road, which heads straight while Concrete-Sauk Valley Road bears left. Continue onto Finney Creek Road and proceed for 10 miles to where the falls can be seen splashing down the cliff (when flowing) right next to the road.Angel Falls is a borderline insignificant waterfall which splashes 129 feet down a broad cliff immediately adjacent to Finny Creek Road. The falls dribble into hundreds of tiny rivulets as its stream veils out over a breadth of as much as 50-feet, nearly splashing right onto Finney Creek Road itself, and split about two thirds of the way down by a clump of trees growing right out of the cliff in the middle of the falls. The stream producing the falls appears to be exceptionally small and highly seasonal in behavior. The falls can be fairly noteworthy during the spring months, but by mid June should be reduced to just a trickle and by July will most likely be entirely dry. While this waterfall may be borderline significant enough to include in this database, the fact that it has a history of colloquial recognition provides ample precedent. The falls are said to have been named by members of the Janicki family, who have a long history of running logging and mining operations in the Skagit Valley dating back over 100 years. Exactly when and from whom the name originated is not known.
