About This Waterfall
Ash Creek Falls appears to be the tallest of the several waterfalls found on the flanks of Mount Shasta. The falls drop about 290 feet in a single horsetail-style fall which spreads out considerably halfway down its descent thanks to the structure of the cliff. The falls are not easily approached and must be viewed from a modest distance due to the steep, crumbly nature of the canyon downstream of the cataract. Like the other significant waterfalls on Mount Shasta, Ash Creek is sustained during the warmest months of the summer by the melt from a glacier and in turn flow the strongest between July and September.
