About This Waterfall

Bald Mountain Falls is a remarkably impressive waterfall located along the unnamed stream flowing out of Bald Lake in the Canyon Creek drainage north of the town of Glacier. There are actually two side-by-side waterfalls from different streams at this location, the left-hand of the two being the more significant due to its draining from the small lake. The left segment drops over an impressive three stepped fall totaling about 200 feet where it merges with the stream from the righthand fall which has drops of about 100, 50 and 30 feet. After the streams merge is a final fall of about 20 feet. None of this is easy to see, let alone photograph, without either climbing up very precarious slopes or wading through the creek. Both streams have a small drainage area and lose much of their volume late in the summer. I don't think the left segment dries out but I wouldn't be surprised if the right one does.
