About This Waterfall
Basaltic Falls consists of a sheer plunge of at least 200 feet, likely closer to 250 feet, as Basalt Creek plunges into the Upper Cowlitz Canyon. There are at least three more falls downstream of the primary drop, some of which might be legitimately considered part of this waterfall. The falls are only accessible via substantial off-trail travel. The falls were named by J.B. Flett and H.H. Garrisson.
