Roubidoux Spring in Waynesville, Missouri Ozarks is a freshwater source of second magnitude. The spring flows from a base on a rock ledge. It is capped by a large concrete barrier that holds the road over it. Spring water flows only a short distance before reaching the Roubidoux. The spring is surrounded by a park that includes trails and a boardwalk. The average spring discharge is 58.3 cubic feet/second. Unfortunately, there are not enough discharge data to give an exact description of the spring's flow. This could be a spring of first magnitude - more than 100 cubic feet per minute. According to some lists this is the 15th largest spring in the State.

The spring is located in the Ozark hills and is just 30 miles away from Springfield, Missouri. Although the spring can be difficult to locate, it is easy to find. The superior water quality and beautiful scenery make it worth the effort. Take Hwy 125 SE, Sparta MO, about 6 miles to Chadwick. Once there, turn L onto Chadwick Rd. Follow the road for about 5 miles until you reach Swan Creek bridge. Continue on the main road for about 3 miles to cross the smaller creek. After crossing the creek, continue on the road for about 1 mile to Monarch Rd. You will find the trailhead 100 yds ahead of you on the R. From there, walk south along a trail which becomes a rocky valley and then continues SE towards the creek. To get to the spring, you'll need to follow a creek upstream and cross it multiple times.
