About This Waterfall

Big Bend Falls is found near Highway 120 east of the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. From Highway 395 in the town of Lee Vining, head west on Highway 120 toward Tioga Pass and Yosemite for 3 1/2 miles, then turn left onto Power Plant Road where signs point to Campgrounds, then immediately turn right and continue another 2 1/2 miles to where the falls can be seen to the left of the road, just before the Big Bend Campground.Big Bend Falls is a small but fairly attractive 15-foot tall cascading style waterfall along Lee Vining Creek near the upper end of Lee Vining Canyon. The falls are situated below the powerhouse for the hydroelectric system which depletes both Ellery Lake Falls and Lee Vining Falls for much of the year, so the considerable and consistent volume of the stream is present where it encounters this waterfall and the issues with seasonal display are not prescient as with the two upstream falls.
