Name of Waterfall

Bishop Falls

Description

The small creek forming Bishop Falls could be the most tumultuous in the North Fork Cispus drainage, but due to the fact that its waterfalls are hidden in a deep canyon, they aren't known well at all. Bishop Falls is the first of two substantial waterfalls in the canyon, occurring immediately below FR 78. The falls start off sliding down a pitched formation, making an S bend towards the bottom, then quickly plunging 60 feet to the canyon floor. Shortly downstream there is another waterfall of 60 feet or more that might be considered a lower tier of Bishop Falls (closer inspection will reveal the status). The name for the falls was suggested as it drains from a portion of Bishop Ridge.
