About This Waterfall
Bolton Falls was a steep and rocky cascading drop on the Winooski River which was submerged beneath the pent up waters of the Bolton Dam. The river flowed over, around and under a jumbled pile of large boulders wedged into a deep rocky gorge. In low water, it was possible to cross over the falls by staying atop the boulders. Several old stereoviews suggest the falls was somewhat similar to Jefferson Falls, albeit on a much larger scale.
