Name of Waterfall

Bonnie Falls

Description

Bonnie Falls is located west of the small town of Scappoose, off of US 30. At the north end of the town, turn west along the Scappoose-Veronia Road. Drive for 4.3 miles to a turnout on the left side of the road, where you can look down on the falls. The base is easily reached by climbing down the jagged rocks for 30 feet.Though Bonnie Falls is a modest waterfall at best - dropping all of 15 feet - the deep basalt-ringed plunge pool below the falls is ideal for swimming, so long as you don't mind a little murky water. A fish ladder bypassing the falls serves as easy access to the top for jumping from the falls, but it also draws off the majority of the creek in the dryer seasons, greatly reducing the quality of the falls. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see this one, but if passing by, its worth a look.
