About This Waterfall
Bridge Creek Falls is a small but very scenic and remarkably easy-to-access "hidden" waterfall found just off of Highway 58 near Oakridge. The creek has carved a narrow alcove framed by a huge cliff looming a solid 150 feet above the canyon, all sides of which are covered head to toe with moss, ferns and all sorts of verdant things. Unfortunately for those attempting to locate the falls, the cliff and the narrow alcove make it considerably more difficult to locate the falls when speeding by on the highway at 50 miles per hour - especially so for westbound traffic. Once the correct location to stop along the road is identified - fairly easy to do thanks to the stream crossing being signed - the trail which climbs up the draw is pretty obvious and getting up to the falls is actually quite easy (though may involve getting your feet wet). Though not a seasonal stream, the drainage feeding Bridge Creek isn't terribly large and the streamflow will fluctuate as the seasons progress. Best time to visit the falls is late April to the end of June, just after the plants and trees have sprouted their leaves for the season. By August though the volume of water in the creek will be greatly reduced and the falls will reflect just a fraction of it's springtime gusto.
