About This Waterfall
Buttermilk Falls used to exist right in downtown Albany, but in 1900 the Beaver Kill was incorporated directly into the city's sewage system, essentially destroyed and Buttermilk Falls along with the creek was buried in some way or another. That the falls haven't existed for well over 100 years suggests this entry shouldn't even be in the database, but we decided to include it simply because Russell Dunn mentions it in his Hudson Valley Waterfall Guide as a historical note.
