About This Waterfall
Draining from the northwest side of Mount Alan Campbell in the upper Valenciennes River basin, a modest glacier sends a substantial volume of water curtaining over the side of the upper Valenciennes Canyon in rather consequential fashion. The falls stand over 500 feet tall, but an exact height has not yet been determined. Due to the twisting nature of the falls, however, the entire fall is not visible from any one point adjacent to the stream. Close up views of parts of the falls are possible by scrambling up either side of the stream, but both yield limited views. When surveyed in August of 2010, we were able to only measure the bottom of the falls, a set of sliding cascades dropping 170 feet just upstream and out of sight of the bridge crossing the unnamed creek. This waterfall is not known to bear a historical or colloquial name, so we have named it for the mountain from which it drains.
