About This Waterfall
The Cascade is essentially a wet-weather waterfall found in the Middlesex Fells Reservation, quite literally right in the middle of the Boston metro area. The falls are a mere two-thirds of a mile from the Oak Grove station along the MBTA's Orange Line, which itself is only about 6 miles from downtown Boston. The falls probably don't flow for the majority of the summer, but when the wayward tropical depression may pass through it should turn loose for a few days. Otherwise the best time to catch this one flowing is during a period of snow melt. The data we've seen suggests this waterfall is about 30 feet tall, but there is a long talus runout below the actual bedrock portion of the falls, so whether this has been taken into account we don't know.
