Cloudcap Falls

Description

Cloudcap Falls is a long series of cascades flowing off a small glacier just below Cloudcap Peak on the east shoulder of Mount Shuksan. The falls drop approximately 2400 feet over a run of just shy of 8/10 of a mile. This is all continuous bedrock-based waterfall, however all but the final couple hundred feet or so are hidden from view due to the way the creek has incised itself into the mountain, much like neighboring Sulphide Creek Falls. Viewing the falls is all but impossible from anywhere but the air, and even at that it won't likely be very visible (or worth photographing). Further, the falls only appear to flow during the melt season, and run dry, or at least low enough that it can't be easily noticed, in the late summer. In the broad picture, this one is noteworthy only for its height and nothing else.
