About This Waterfall

The entrance of the convent is located about 1 mile east of Bridal Veil Falls. Find the path from the parking area and walk 100 feet to the base of the falls. There is a second way to view the falls if you don't want to be intrusive. About 1/2 mile before the convent is the Angel's Rest trailhead. Hike up the trail for about 6-10 mile to a side trail looking down on the falls from above. If you continue along the main trail for a short distance further, you'll come to Upper Coopey Falls, just upstream from the bridge crossing Coopey Creek.Of all the major waterfalls along the Historic highway, this is the only one that you won't find unless you look. The falls are located behind a convent owned by the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, which is private property. However, the book "A waterfall lover's guide to the Pacific Northwest" states that the sisters openly invite visitors to visit the falls via a path leading from the parking lot in front of the convent. Please be sure to ask permission to view the falls before you head up to them. The falls and creek are named for Charles Coopey, who owned land adjacent to the falls at one point.
