Name of Waterfall

Cowlitz Falls

Description

Cowlitz Falls was a series of rapids dropping maybe 15 feet in a 300 foot run on the Cowlitz River about two miles above the confluence with the Cispus River. With the construction of the Cowlitz Falls Dam, Lake Scanewa has since flooded the falls and replaced them with a small lake. It is no stretch to say the lake may be more scenic than the falls were. No great loss here.
