Description

Crystal Spring springs year round from the Flint Hills limestone water aquifer. The local name for the spring is City Spring. It can yield up to 1000 gallons every minute. The 1949 pumphouse supplies water to Florence. It is home to the "99.96% Pure spring Water" historic water tower. At the rear base, the spring flows through a rusty and moss-covered hatch. You can collect water from the stream by wading into the hatch. Be careful: The spring bank could be slippery. Watch out for sharp stones or broken glass at the creek bed and in the parking area.
