About This Waterfall
Deh-ga-wa-nus Falls is a minor tributary waterfall to the Genesee River located immediately adjacent to Upper Genesee Falls in Letchworth State Park. The falls spray about 30 feet into the Genesee River at the immediate top of the Upper Falls, and are best seen from the east side of the gorge.Deh-ge-wa-nus is a Seneca word which means "the two falling voices". That Deh-ge-wa-nus Falls is located immediately adjacent to Upper Genesee Falls gives the name a little extra, if only serendipitous meaning.
