About This Waterfall
Döda Fallet, formerly known as Storforsen, was a high volume cascading type waterfall along the Indalsälven which dropped approximately 115 feet in a run of about 1200 feet. The falls were destroyed in 1796 when a flood destroyed a canal which bypassed the falls, and caused the entire river to shift to a new channel, bypassing the falls. The dry waterfall is now an attraction.
