East Creek Falls

East Creek Falls can be found about 100 feet upstream of the bridge along Highway 504 within Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, about four miles west of the terminus of the highway at the Johnston Ridge Observatory. Clear views of the falls can be had by scrambling up the slope to the left of the creek.East Creek is a small drainage flowing off the southwest side of Coldwater Peak in Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. The basin is almost entirely deforested as a result of the 1980 eruption and it doesn't appear able to hold much groundwater, but as one crosses the stream on Highway 504 a fairly noteworthy 127 foot tall waterfall can be seen just upstream from the bridge. The falls consist of three drops in all, the first two being easily seen and the final one partially obscured by a cleft in the bedrock. I wouldn't suggest driving out of your way to see this waterfall, but waterfall hunters who may be visiting the area certainly have no excuse not to stop.
