About This Waterfall
Eight Foot Falls was a series of cascades and rapids which dropped about three meters along the Winnipeg River below the Pointe du Bois dam. In 2014 a new spillway for the dam was constructed which resulted in the majority of the falls being destroyed or inundated. The new spillway now bypasses the small portion of the natural falls which was not destroyed, so it effectively no longer exists.
