About This Waterfall
Epupa Falls is the lowermost major waterfall along the Kunene River. The river straddles the border of Namibia and Angola, but the majority of the falls appear to occur within Namibia. The falls are formed where the river splits into multiple channels across a scoured bedrock outcrop and drop approximately 65 feet into several narrow troughs. From bank to bank the crest of the falls looks to stretch nearly 3,300 feet across, but outside of the monsoon season the majority of the river is confined to two narrow channels which only span a few hundred feet each - at most.
