About This Waterfall
Turn off US 101 on to SR 229, about 4 miles south of Lincoln City and proceed east about 18 miles to Euchre Creek Road, marked by a white post which is not very obvious from the main road. The gravel road starts uphill and reaches a fork at about 1.5 miles. The lower fork goes to a gated bridge over the creek and the upper fork proceeds along the creek (this is what you want in case you were wondering). About .1 mile from the fork, you'll see a turnout with a flight of wooden stairs leading down to the creek, which have been pummeled to death by windfalls which haven't been cleared. The falls are reached only 25 feet from the road, just be cautious on the slowly decaying stairs. If this really is Euchre Falls, it's quite a disappointment. It's way out in the middle of nowhere, and it's definitely not worth the time to find, unless you're a collector. There is an excellent swimming hole at the base of the falls, which could prompt attention, but the falls themselves are nothing exciting. Yet another case of a small waterfall, which shouldn't be named, which someone has gone out of their way to recognize. Falls may deserve a rating of 3 in high water periods.
