About This Waterfall
Feather Woman Falls is a lacy, multi-channel waterfall which is formed where melt from an unnamed glacier on the southwest side of Gunsight Mountain percolates out from under a large moraine and skips about 350 feet down the mountainside in Glacier Basin near the Sperry Chalet in Glacier National Park. The falls typically exhibit four or five distinct segments where they emerge from beneath the moraine, but during peak runoff may extend to as many as seven distinct segments (not all of which are as significant as the four main ones). The falls are easily accessed from the Sperry Trail as it climbs between the Sperry Chalet and Feather Woman Lake.
