About This Waterfall
The falls are located along Highway 6 about 29 miles east of Tillamook, or 13 miles west of the junction of Highways 8 and 6. Watch for a sign on the north side of the road stating simply "Falls".Fern Rock Falls is the token roadside waterfall along Highway 6. Its not an impressive waterfall by any stretch of the imagination, and though the falls are marked on maps of the Tillamook State Forest, a small, obscure sign simply stating "Falls" is all of a hint of its location to inattentive passers by. The biggest issue with finding the falls is that while they are plainly visible from the highway, its stuffed about 100 feet back in an alcove fronted by a monstrous turnout, and particularly when sunlight is shining directly in the direction of travel, the falls will be hard to see. Fern Rock Creek possesses a very small drainage, but the falls do seem to flow all year long.
