About This Waterfall

The Gorge Creek Trail can be found across Highway 1 from the Last Spike Monument in Craigellachie along Highway 1, 25.5km east of Sicamous or 8km west of Crazy Creek Falls. From the parking area walk past the restrooms and bear up the grassy hill on the path, which leads to the trail on the opposite side of the highway. Fir Falls is found just 300m up the trail from the Highway.Fir Falls is the first of a series of three small waterfalls encountered along the scenic Gorge Creek Trail near Craigellachie. The falls break through an abrupt cliff band and drop in two quick steps into a big blue pool. Just downstream the creek cascades over two more small falls, dropping about 10 feet further, though neither are nearly as scenic (or easy to photograph for that matter). Perhaps most striking about this waterfall is the surrounding forest, which has a floor coated with a nearly seamless carpet of moss.
