About This Waterfall
From Ithaca, drive south on Route 13 / 34 / 96 and then bear right (west) onto Route 327 (Enfield Falls Road) shortly before the junction where Routes 13 and 96 split. Continue for 2.9 miles and then make a hard left onto Upper Park Road at the upper entrance to Robert H. Treman State Park, and then follow Upper Park Road to its end at the parking area next to the Old Mill. Fish Kill Falls can be seen immediately adjacent to the Old Mill building at the entrance to the parking lot.Fish Kill Falls, also known as The Falls at the Old Mill, is a small but scenic waterfall found immediately adjacent to the upper parking area in Robert H. Treman State Park. The falls drop a total of 22 feet, with individual plunging steps of 7 and 10 feet, followed by a 5 foot cascade. The Old Mill next to the falls is a relic of the now defunct town of Enfield Falls, which was built in the general vicinity of the upper end of Enfield Glen (it’s not known whether it was named for any specific waterfall). The Fish Kill drains from a basin covering approximately 7.8 square miles, and seems to retain at least a semi-modest flow for the majority of the year based on the pictures we’ve seen. When surveyed in May of 2018 the streamflow was healthy, and gave no immediate impression that it was in jeopardy of being seasonally reduced before mid-summer. Like most other waterfalls in the area, expect flow to be low from July through September without passing storms to replenish the creek.
