About This Waterfall
Garlic Falls is a tall but low volume multi-step waterfall which drops directly into the Kings River several dozen miles downstream of the west border of Kings Canyon National Park. The falls drop just over 800 feet in six free-falling steps, the tallest individual drop being around 300 feet in height. Trails lead past the top of the falls but the only way to visit the base is by kayaking or rafting the raucous Kings River. The small drainage area of Garlic Meadow Creek precludes the falls from flowing with any sort of substance beyond July and it is very likely that the falls run dry during the summer months.
