About This Spring

## Overview Gemini Springs is a natural spring system located within Gemini Springs Park in DeBary, Florida — a scenic 210-acre county park managed by Volusia County. The name "Gemini" refers to the twin spring vents that feed into a spring run, eventually flowing into the St. Johns River. The park sits in the transitional zone between the greater Orlando metro area and Daytona Beach, making it a convenient natural retreat for residents of both regions. The springs have historically served as a gathering place and water source, and the surrounding parkland features a mix of hardwood hammock, wetlands, and open green spaces. Visitors should be aware that **swimming in the springs has been closed** due to concerns about the aquifer. Additionally, the park's tap water (faucets, fountains, etc.) is supplied by the public municipal water system and does not come from the springs themselves. ## Directions 1. From Interstate 4, take the DeBary exit (Exit 108 — Dirksen Drive). 2. Head north on Dirksen Drive. 3. Continue approximately 1 mile to the park entrance at **37 Dirksen Drive, DeBary, FL 32713**. 4. Follow signs into Gemini Springs Park. Parking is available near the spring area. DeBary is located northeast of Orlando and southwest of Daytona Beach. The park can also be reached via US-17/92. **Park Phone:** (386) 668-3810 ## What to Expect Gemini Springs Park is open daily from **sunrise to sunset**. The twin springs are the centerpiece of the park, with clear water visible from viewing areas along the spring run. While swimming is no longer permitted due to aquifer concerns, the springs remain a beautiful spot to observe wildlife and enjoy the natural scenery. The park offers a network of paved and unpaved trails, picnic pavilions, a playground, a dog park, and a fishing pier along the spring run. Kayaking and canoeing are popular activities on the spring run, which connects to Lake Monroe and the St. Johns River. Birdwatchers will find the park rewarding, as the wetland habitats attract a variety of wading birds, raptors, and songbirds. Manatees have also been spotted in the spring run during cooler months. There is no entrance fee for the park. Restroom facilities are available near the main parking area. The terrain is mostly flat and accessible, making it suitable for visitors of all ages and mobility levels.
