About This Waterfall

Glenerie Falls is a series of broad, low stepped cascades along Esopus Creek located about halfway between Kingston and Saugerties. The falls have an average width of over 300 feet, and the lowest and largest tier has a crest length of nearly 700 feet, making it one of the widest waterfalls in New York. The cumulative drop of the falls is about 45 feet. An addition drop of about 10 feet lies approximately one-fifth of a mile downstream of the main falls and is easily visible from Highway 9W. According to Russell Dunn's Hudson Valley Waterfall Guide, both sets of falls lie on private, posted property and cannot be approached closely without trespassing. Please heed any signs which may indicate that closer public access is not allowed.
