Take Route 60 south from Stryn to the small town of Loen and make a left onto Route 723 where signs point to Kjenndalsbreen (the turn adjacent to several prominent hotels). Follow Route 723 contouring along Lovatnet for 6.8km to where the falls can be seen to the left of the road, above a grass pasture.Grønefossen is a roadside waterfalls encountered as one drives along Lovatnet towards the glaciers of Bødalen and Kjenndalen in Jostedalsbreen National Park. The falls are located along the Brengselva and are encountered about halfway between the town of Loen and the toll roads which branch to Bødalen and Kjenndalen. The Brengselva drops over two consecutive waterfalls, both of which are visible from the same location along the road; Grønefossen is the upper of the two falls, while the lower is known as Brengsfossen. Because both falls are located in close proximity to one another and are visible from the same location, they are often assumed to be two parts of the same series of falls - and there is an argument to be made that they are indeed two drops of the same set of falls, but as each of the major drops are named individually we will reference them as such. Grønefossen itself is a slide-into-plunge type fall which corkscrews into a narrow alcove during its final plunge, dropping approximately 127 meters in all.
