Description

Take Interstate 87 to Saugerties and exit to northbound Route 32. Follow Route 32 for 6 miles, then bear left (or rather stay straight) onto Route 32A and continue another mile and a half to the bridge spanning Kaaterskill Creek. The falls will be found on either side of the bridge. Parking is limited.Helena Falls is the last of the handful of small waterfalls found along Kaaterskill Creek within the town of Palenville. The falls consist of two sections, bysected by the bridge along Route 32A. Upstream of the bridge is a set of small cascades dropping about 4 feet, while below the bridge is a clean plunge where the creek funnels through a chute into a deep pool, dropping about 8 feet.
