About This Waterfall

Hoover Falls is thought to be the historic name for a broad 10-15 foot tall cascading waterfall along the North Santiam River near the inlet to Detroit Lake. When the Detroit Dam was constructed the falls were submerged by Detroit Lake, however when the lake is drawn down during the winter months the falls will become visible again from the side of Highway 22.
