About This Waterfall
Ice Falls occurs along the outlet stream of Upper Ice Lake high in the headwater region of the Entiat River drainage. The falls drop approximately 1,300 feet in at least 8 distinct steps over a linear run of about 1,800 feet. The three largest individual tiers of the falls appear to drop approximately 200-250 feet each. Viewed from the bottom of the Ice Creek valley near the base of the falls, only about two-thirds of the falls can be seen due to the effects of foreshortening and the slight bend in the course of the stream as it tumbles down the headwall. The upper 200-300 feet of the falls may be at least partially accessible from the Ice Lakes area, however steep scrambling from Upper Ice Lake will be required to see any of the falls from above.
